Course Objective	台灣原住民為南島語系（Austronesian linguistics）的一支，其他所屬地域包括南太平洋幾個小島，如Austrelia、Indonesia、Malaysia、Borneo、Melanesia、Micronesia、New Guinea、Philippine、Polynesia、New Zealand等所謂南島族群。本課程的設計，擬以風土建築的學理分析開始，並由宗教學、人類學及建築學等跨領域學科理論，分就原住民所屬的原始社會予以介紹，依信仰、象徵、儀式行為、儀式空間、儀式建築的表徵分別討論，期使修課同學對於原初建築形式的出現及來由，有一深刻的認識。其次，由修課同學就世界風土建築進行資料收集，除介紹世界不同地域所生產的建築文化外，亦就其社會組織、生活文化特色及象徵系統進行討論。

Evaluation and grading policy	1. 出席：20﹪ 2. 中英文閱讀報告：40﹪，修課同學閱讀所分配的文章，並以書面摘要於課堂中報告。 3. 期末報告：40﹪ 修課同學任選任一國家，就其建築文化、社會組織、宗教信仰及藝術活動提出簡要報告。並就所選族群聚落建築的形式、裝飾特色及空間結構提出簡要報告。 4. 前述皆另以書面報告繳交，A4橫式電腦打字，無須包裝封面。
