| This course will begin with a comprehensive introduction to personal data protection principles and explain in detail the "Personal Data Protection Act" and the "Enforcement Rules of the Personal Data Protection Act". Student will learn managerial and practical considerations of personal data protection. Relevant standards and guidelines, such as ISO/IEC 29100, ISO/IEC 27701, will be discussed to strengthen students' understanding of fundamental concepts of personal information management systems (PIMS). In addition, the process of a privacy impact assessment (PIA) and its related standard ISO/IEC 29134 will also be introduced in this course. All in all, this course aims to give students a solid understanding of personal data protection through cases studies and international standards.
