| This course will integrate theories and practical training to help students learn knowledge associated with human-computer interaction (HCI), communication, and marketing. Students will explore new media interactivity and storytelling through a series of assignments that examine texts, images, sounds, videos, and animation. This course will discuss a variety of topics, such as positive storytelling, sponsored marketing, personal branding, virus marketing, etc. This course will also investigate digital storytelling and its impacts, hypertexts, digital symbols, multimedia convergence, social media, and high interactive environment. Students will also have opportunities to practice different digital media design skills, such as editing, creating storyboard, lighting, camera/lens languages, special effects, etc. Students will also discuss the role, impacts, and future of digital storytelling via proposing an original empirical research study.
