Description This course covers the process of acquiring, maintaining and managing cultural collections, and focuses on the organization, description and value-added application of various collection. The goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge of cultural collections, including: 1. an understanding of the types and characteristics of institutions and objects in cultural collections, as well as the concept of permanent preservation; 2. an understanding of the methods and basic principles of description in cultural collections; 3. the ability to locate, evaluate, and apply information in cultural collections.
