Description Taiwan located in one of the world's most vulnerable areas with highly urban development, whenever disaster occurred; it is likely to cause serious economic and live losses. The course aims to strengthen students' applications of disaster management, resource allocation, physical planning knowledge and adaptability to architectural design and urban planning. Through the literatures review, case studies, seminar and discussion with experts, we would focus on the types of disasters, disaster prevention and disaster reduction of building plans and land-use planning, disaster prevention and response systems, environmental changes and derivative issues, resource allocation, compound disaster impact, adaptative strategies and mechanisms to climate change, post-disaster resettlement, industrial recovery and community reconstruction issues, in order to cultivate high-level design, planning and management talents.
