7925158 Security and management of underground space 3.0 3
Description As the increasing number of population are living in the big cities, housing, shopping malls, warehousing, transportation, water supply and drainage are growing rapidly both in the number and the scale. Therefore, the use of underground space is an inevitable trend. Due to natural conditions and limited access of underground space, maintenance, security and management of underground space are quite different from those of open space on the ground. With Taiwan's rapid development in recent years, various types of underground space are sprawling. Security, maintenance and management of underground space are of concern to us all. The course for this semester begins with exploring the uniqueness of underground space, then studying several disaster cases focusing on the fire rescue for road tunnels and ends with integrating different areas of knowledge such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, management and tunnel safety.
