| This is an introductory course to pharmaceutical industry. In this course, the basic concept in pharmaceutical industry is illustrated and discussed. The main goal is to introduce students to understand the pharmaceutical industry. This course will be divided into three parts for medicinal chemistry, procedure of drug product development and pharmaceutical manufacturing technology. In the first part, the medicinal chemistry will be discussed for how to design an appropriate drug molecule. In the second part, the procedure for drug product development from lab to market will be discussed. Finally, from the viewpoint of engineering, design and scale up the pharmaceutical process will be illustrated.
