Description This course is aimed to give an introduction for students who are interested in state-of-the-art cell culture technology. This course also focuses on the fundamentals of cell biology and biochemical engineering. A review of the current development in cell biology and physiology will be introduced to students, and the course will allow students to understand the operation and design of cell culture reactors, and overall process design and optimization. Emphasis is given to new developments and strategies for the control of nutrient feeding and perfusion for both cell culture and tissue engineering. New processing technology and future prospects of vaccines and other biologicals and current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) guideline are also presented.
