Description Environmental engineering has been applied for decades and considered one of the most effective approaches in solving the environmental problems. However, traditional engineering didn't really solve the problem but rather shift one problem to another. In this course, cleaner production and pollution prevention techniques will be taught together with some latest environmental management tools to help students understand and use a holistic approach to really solve the environmental problems. Topics of the courses include Introduction to the Environmental Problems, Risk, Exposure and their Assessment, Green Chemistry, Process Units and their Pollution Prevention, P2 Opportunity Assessment, Environmental Cost Accounting, Life Cycle Assessment, and Industrial Ecology.
