Description An introduction to the study, planning, and design of the interaction between users and computers. This course aims to study user's intuitive perception about their own acts and their surrounding world by employing knowledge of cognitive psychology and mental model that help shape behavior and set an approach to solving problems in design. The basic goal of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is to improve the usability of computer interface to the user's needs. Topics include: (1) designing the best possible interface within given constraints; (2) optimization for a desired property of usability; (3) development of new interfaces and interaction techniques; (4) evaluation and comparing interfaces.
