Description Universal Usability is a design approach that will accommodate the diversity of user base, while supports a broad range of hardware, software, and network access. This course explores the theories of Universal Usability that works for everyone across the spectrum of ability, experience level and back ground. Issues on usability of interface and product will be discussed in order to generate initiatives in response to unmet needs, and then accommodate individual differences among users. Design principle that enhances human experience will be reviewed, in which cognitive consistency is the most promising approach to achieving universal usability. To develop a philosophical direction of Universal Usability, students are required to study selected literature and present in seminar discussion group.
