| Course description: This course aims at exposing students to various intellectual property issues, for example, trade secret, patent, copyright and trademark. The students in this course will understand the relationship between those four categories of IP and design process. This course will discuss management systems related to trade secret protection of designs and copyright ownership clearance. This course will talk about patent prosecution for design patents. This course will also provide knowledge about trademark search and the standard of likelihood of confusion of two trademarks. Finally, the students will learn knowledge of contracting drafting so as to be able to use contracts as protective measures in their future careers regarding design service. It should be noted that the students taking this course are required to participate.
