Description The objective of this course is to help graduate students to prepare their master's theses that are related to design history, theories and criticism, or to review related design concepts and styles for their graduate projects. This course provides the necessary theoretical perspectives and historical distances and its contents contain pluralism-oriented reflections of (1) design thoughts and movements: modernism and post-modernism, structuralism and post-structuralism, capitalism and socialism, and (2) design discourses: behavioral research, systematic science, cognitive science, linguistics, history, sociology, and alternative design).
