Description In addition to the fundamentals of surface treatment, biological interactions of materials, mechanical properties, ceramics and composite materials in biomedical application, corrosion mechanisms of metallic biomaterials and engineering problems associated with materials will be introduced. The contents of this course will include the development of biomaterials, the biocompatibility of materials, mechanisms of biodegradable and bio-absorbable materials. It will illustrate the advanced concepts of medical devices, artificial organs (implants), dental materials, tissue engineering and drug eluting technologies as well.
