| In this one-credit MA course, students will read journal articles and book chapters from scholarship by Abbas, so as to familiarise themselves with the theoretical framework of Abbas’s cultural critique of Hong Kong as a post-colonial city of disappearance. In addition to reading Abbas’s works, stu-dents will attend the Literary Fantasy and Its Discontents conference on 23-24 November and his keynote speech “Documentary As Fantasy; or, Docu-mentary in the Era of Its Impossibility,” so as to produce essays by utilising and reflecting on Abbas’s key concepts.
