Description The course is designed for graduate students studying in fields related to applied linguistics and education who are interested in using descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze data gathered from major quantitative research designs. The course covers the following topics: overview of quantitative research designs including survey research, experimental and quasi-experimental research, and correlational research; measuring of reliability and validity; sampling, hypothesis testing and statistical significance, correlational analysis, tests of mean differences, tests of frequencies, analysis of variance, linear regression, and multiple regression.
