Description Compared to the undergraduate Rock Mechanics course, this is a more advanced course to examine the behaviors of rocks under different stress conditions。 It will focus on the index properties, the permeability properties, the strength properties, and the deformation properties of rocks。 In addition, it will address the difference between rocks and soils by contrast。 Finally, this course will introduce students to the concept of probability, and how it can be applied to the Rock Mechanics。 The students taking this course will have plenty of reading assignments, and are required to participate in the classroom discussions。
