Description
| This course introduces the characteristics and architecture of multimedia service in heterogeneous network environment. First, wired and wireless networks, e.g., 3G/3.5G/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other popular wireless access techniques, would be introduced one by one. Then, by describing the theory and technology of IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover (MIH), this course would show how to integrate multiple different networks into heterogeneous network environments and how to handoff among them. Finally, regarding multimedia service, VoIP and video streaming services would be taken into consideration. This course would introduce how to provide multimedia services over heterogeneous network environment. Therefore, students can learn the next-generation techniques about multimedia services in heterogeneous network environment from this course.
