Description This course will introduce the complete Unmanned Aircraft Systems and lead students to assemble the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Students will learn the UAV theory, basic operations, hardware assembly, open-source embedded control software (ArduPilot), communication protocol (MAVLink), ground control station (Mission Planner), video transmission, etc. Additionally, we will introduce advanced topics and new applications, such as combining 4G/5G networks to control multiple drones, using 3D printing to customize the aircraft, installing AI models to do image recognition, etc. To take this course, students must have basic knowledge of electronic circuits and microprocessor architecture. Advanced programming capabilities is also necessary.
