Description This course is mainly focus on the application with mathematics to solve physical chemistry and engineering problems, especially on quantum chemistry. It is divided into three parts. The first part is related to special function and Fourier analysis, including series solutions for differential equations, Hermite polynomials, Laguerre polynomials, Legendre polynomials, Bessel function, and Fourier transformation. The 2nd part is on the linear algebra, such as vector, matrix, determinants, eigenvalues, diagonalization, and its application on molecular orbitals. The last one is related to the numerical analysis which is including Boltzmann distribution, Gaussian distribution, and least square analysis.
