The purpose of this metal materials course is to examine the way in which materials impact society and to show how they are produced, processed, and heat treatments. In doing this , The relationship between the structure of metals and its underlying properties will be emphasized , and general principles applicable to all materials will be developed. In following this approach, the goal is for students to develop a fundamental understanding of metals behavior that will help prepare them for a rapidly changing, and sometimes be wilder environment.
