Description This course is designed for undergraduate engineering students with the objective of introducing the fundamentals of life sciences while pointing out the areas in which engineering plays a pivotal role in the advent. Students are to be provided with perspectives on the interplay between biology, engineering, and biotechnology, with emphasis on the quantitative and integrative nature of biological and bioengineering problems. The contributions of engineering to life science are illustrated with the design and manufacturing of tools essential for observations and applications in medicine, agriculture and environment.
