Description The course describes the foundamental principles and the application of Surface Chemistry, which is concentrated in following three major fields: (1) The surface tension, thermodynamics of the liquids and their related electrical properties, wetting, cleaning, emulsification and foaforming. (2) The surface chemistry of solid state emphasizes the formation of a solid surface, its characterzation, the liquid-solid contact angle, the adsorption, and the adhesion phenomena on molecular basis. (3) The interfacial phenomena at the solid-gas interface, the adsorption of gas or vapor on the solid surface, the chemistry of adsorption and the catalysis.
