3105208 Error Control Technologies for Modern Mobile Communication Systems 3.0 3
Description Error control technology is one of the key enablers for boosting the strict performance of modern mobile communication systems (e.g., extremely-high data rate/reliability and ultra-low latency). This course aims at helping students acquire the knowledge about the applications and design principles of the error control techniques adopted in modern mobile communication systems, covering: (1) Introduction to error control techniques for mobile communication systems, (2) Introduction to basic channel coding theory and channel capacity, (3) Principles and designs of turbo codes, (4) Principles and designs of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, (5) Principles and design of polar codes, and (6) Principles and design of hybrid automatic retransmission requests (HARQ) technologies.
