Description "Consciousness" is one of the major characteristics of human mind; it is also the intrinsic feature that makes up our life experiences. The reason is that, our mental activities that include thoughts, sensations, perceptions, etc., are all certain kind of conscious acts or states. Therefore, the key to understand mental activities is to know the question of "What is consciousness?" This course will investigate a few critical issues in the study of consciousness. For example, the nature of "consciousness", the relations among consciousness and aforementioned mental activities, and the relationship between consciousness and the physical features of human mind, etc. This course certainly engage disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience, etc. Since this is an introductory course, it aims at the establishment of basic concepts for our discussion of all the relevant issues.
