| In a broad sense, the meaning of culture covers all efforts human being put for improvement of life and their results. In another word, life is culture. In a narrow sense, culture is mainly related to arts. As a common course, this course takes culture in its broad meaning and will discuss aspects from folk culture, including fairy tales, proverbs, legends, beliefs, and sacrificial rites, to development of modern literature, painting, music, drama, dance, arts, architecture. It is hoped that, through taking this class, students are able to have a basic and comprehensive understanding of Taiwan culture.
