Description If you want to study geography well, you must use a variety of techniques, such as travel, reading, watching, observation and some kind of studies in statistics. Taiwan has a very few of natural resources besides its mountain forests, but the island¢s economy has expanded quickly with the growth of manufacturing and foreign trade. An overall understanding of the Taiwanese geography is viewed in the light of its location, topography, weather, hydrology, soil, population, agriculture, fishing, stock-raising, mining, forest and woods, manufacturing, transportation, economical development and international trade. The basic goals of this course include the understanding of its status in the world, an understanding of relationships among the people in the limited space, the knowledge of weather and climate, the knowledge of natural resources, and the forecast of its future.
