| The aim of this course is to guide students into the world of modern English in a wide range of writing styles and subject matters. It intends to build up confidence and competence of students who are interested in reading a variety of topics in the newspapers and magazines as well as other media. The first focus is to enrich vocabulary tank by learning key words in realms like business, economic, politics, entertainment, art; the second is to help master the writing skills and styles in journalism; the last is to enhance listening ability via broadcasting materials on audio/video channels like ICRT and CNN.
