| Description
| This course explores the complex structure of various Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite ground station systems, introducing fundamental concepts and their roles in satellite communication. Students gain a profound understanding of the pivotal role these systems play in supporting LEO satellite communication. The course analyzes different ground station types, including maritime satellites, GEO/LEO ground stations, and fixed/mobile ground stations, detailing their characteristics, applications, and technical requirements. It also covers antenna subsystems, the Local Operations Center (LOC), data interface networks, and supporting systems like power and control. Practical case analyses help students develop skills in deciphering ground station system architecture.
