Description Intellectual Property has played an important role as an integral part of the international trade, and its significance has been increasing over the past two decades contributed by the burgeoning international treaties and knowledge-driven economic models. While individual nations struggle to achieve national prosperity by striking a balance between protectionism and free trade, the changes in intellectual property law and policy under the tussle of international trade are worth of our close attention. This course intends to provide students with a general understanding on both the theories and practice of intellectual property legal regimes within the context of international trade. Students will learn how the frameworks of intellectual property law and policy affect the societies and economies of individual member states of international treaties.
