| Planning and control of operations in both manufacturing and service industries is critical to effective management and utilization of resources and the production of cost effective products and services. The main purpose of this course is to introduce the fundamental concepts of production planning and control. In addition, applications of management science and operations research in production control and planning are also provided. This course covers the principles, models, and techniques for planning, analyzing, and designing integrated planning and control system. Course topics include the following subjects: production and operations strategy, forecasting, aggregate planning and resources requirement planning, inventory planning, production scheduling, just-in-time production system, and project management.
