| This course focuses on the procedural aspect of invention patent, utility model and design patent prosecution in Taiwan. As a wide range of different topics are designed to be covered, two courses named “Practice in Patent application (1)” and “Practice in Patent application (2)” are being offered and this is the first course (1). The topics cover inventorship, ownership (including a right to file a patent application), priority, formality, inventor interview, patentable subject matter, patentability, patent classification and search, patent specification and claim reading and writing, etc. In addition, the practical aspect of international patent prosecution is presented for comparison. The class materials include a patent prosecution textbook, patent prosecution and examination guidelines from different counties, and court decisions.
