| For effectively integrating activities between manufacturing system and production planning, real time information of shop floor must be collected so that supervisor could make the correct decision. Manufacturing execution system (MES) plays the role of interface between execution layer and planning layer. In this course, concept and technology of MES will be addressed. Subsystem of MES, WIP tracking, SPC, equipment management and production scheduling are also included. Some applications will be introduced to discuss the benefit and problem for implementing an MES.
