| Climate change has become the most serious global environmental protection issue into the 21st century. To ensure the sustainable development of environment, economy and society, the international community is adopting various response measures. Low-carbonization has become a common global trend. This course will introduce the international trends of "energy saving & carbon reduction" and "low-carbon society". It will also introduce related regulations on greenhouse gases (GHG) reduction, energy security worldwide, as well as Taiwan's GHG reduction and energy saving regulations. The concepts of carbon footprints and carbon neutral will be introduced, using international case studies to offer challenges and opportunities for moving toward a low-carbon society in Taiwan.
