Description This course is based on A Global History and centers on the theme "From Prehistory to Ancient Civilizations," exploring the development of human lifestyles and design from prehistoric times to early civilizations. The course covers survival tools, living environments, and decorative arts of primitive societies, extending to urban planning, architectural styles, craftsmanship, and social structures of ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, and Rome. Through the analysis of these historical periods, students will understand how different societies utilized materials, technologies, and cultural values to shape their living environments and examine the influence of these design legacies on modern society. Additionally, the course will encourage students to consider how ancient design can inspire modern sustainability and cultural revival. Through research and group discussions, students will develop an interdisciplinary perspective on history and design.
