Description Design is a product of the period and culture in which it is created. It is a representation of values shared by society but also used to represent specific ideals, encourage certain activities, and thus influence society and culture. This course provides an introduction to the zeitgeist of Modern and Postmodern Design. It deals with the most important developments including architecture, graphic design, product design, furniture design, interior design, digital design, and even business design. This course provides the background needed for understanding the rich heritage of historical design in the arts, as influenced by political, religious, technological, cultural, climatic and geographic factors.
