This course will define for students the rules, practices, purposes, and value of scrupulous scholarship and careful documentation in accordance with the MLA system shared by a wide community of researchers world-wide. Beginning with the selection of a general topic, moving toward a specific research question and then researching and documenting the answer to that question will be a step-by-step process with clear guidelines resulting in the student's knowledge of how to produce a paper acceptable to scholars world-wide.
