Description
| In this course students will translate a work from one medium-literature-into another medium-film. Beginning with a careful analysis of the language, tone, style, connotations, characters, and themes in the work of literature, students will then learn about the three basic principles of cinema-Images + Time + Sound-and they will then recreate a version of the original work in the medium of cinema. This course will demand an emphasis on team-work and mutual trust; an ability to work toward a goal while overcoming numerous practical and aesthetic problems; an ability to be flexible and creative using the basic principles of both literary and cinematic language; and also an ability to acc ept responsibility and to fulfill tasks while working independently.
