| This course is aimed at sensitizing students to the mindsets of the English-speaking world, including its logicality, ideology, and consequently, its phraseology. The materials used comprise authentic TV shows, commercials, films, Web-based resources, etc. Students will be coached to observe, through these windows, pragmatic strategies favored by Western societies. Gaining such a cross-cultural awareness will empower students to develop a strong intuitive sense of proper language use in the context of global communication.
