| The aims of this course are to provide an understanding of the variety of perspectives that influence housing development, consider the nature of the relationships between policy, land use planning, and other areas. To examine these concerns, the course includes: 1. Introduction. 2. Current international and domestic housing policy and practical issues. 3. The state of housing need/demand/supply. 4. House building and the construction industry. 5. Housing finance and expenditure. 6. Public and private housing development. 7. Green residential building and sustainable cities. 8. Balancing planning needs in housing studies: housing, land-use planning, ecological environment, transportation, resource management and financing concerns.
