| The applications of power electronics include electric vehicles, lighting, power systems, transportation, etc. The goal of this course is to help students understand the basic principles of power electronics and to integrate the comprehensive applications of electronic, circuit, and electromagnetic disciplines. The course content covers power electronic components (diodes, inductors, capacitors, power switches), switching mode power conversion principles, power converters (DC-DC converters, AC-DC power factor correctors, DC-AC inverters), soft switching technique, control technique (pulse width modulation, frequency modulation, current modulation), feedback circuit design, introduction of sensing components, introduction and application of PLECS computer simulation software.
