3908506 Digital Fabrication 3.0 3
Description Digital fabrication, in the third digital revolution, has spurred a design revolution, yielding a wealth of architectural invention and innovation. How designs use digital fabrication and material techniques to calibrate between virtual model and physical artifact is the crucial theme in the design field(Iwamoto, 2009). Thus, the course provides students with explicit skills-based instruction in digital technologies for extracting, developing, and analyzing data of complex geometries while facilitating the production of a systematic workflow for rationalization and constructability. The course will be organized via lectures and hand-on tutorials to enlarge students' material experience and to develop unique and creative tectonic systems via group projects.
