| This course provides students with essential mapping and spatial analysis skills. Classes will be given on the core principles of Geographic Information Systems with applied instructions on mapping, processing, and displaying spatial data. It is particularly useful for students interested in conducting environmental, suitability and transportation-related research. Besides taking the weekly lectures, the students will be required to complete in-class lab assignments. Upon completion of this course, students should have the necessary techniques to construct maps and perform analysis which can be used in a variety of spatial planning or design settings.
