| Description
| The course provides a hands-on introduction to the resources for designing and fabricating smart systems. The course consists of two major portions, one-hour lecture and two hours lab hands-on sessions. The course will be divided into the following three stages: Stage 1:Master class series delivered by Taipei Tech and MIT faculties and experts from the related industries. Stage 2 will focus on basic fabrication knowledge such as CAD/CAM/CAE, NC machining, 3-D printing, laser cutting, PCB layout and fabrication, sensors and actuators, analog instrumentation, embedded digital processing, wired and wireless communications. Stage 3 is dedicated to prototyping. Emphasis is placed on learning how to use the tools as well as understanding how they work. The course will end with a final presentation and demo session.
