English Description
This course covers fundamental concepts in signals and systems, which are broadly used for modeling, analyzing, and designing physical processes. Both the continuous-time and the discrete-time signals and systems will be considered, with an emphasis on the continuous-time part. Advanced topics on discrete-time signals and systems, such as the Z-transform, the digital filters, and the multirate systems, will be covered in the courses Linear Systems, such as the Z-transform, the digital filters, and the multirate systems, will be covered in the courses Linear Systems and Digital Signal Processing. The course is outlined as: 1. Introduction, 2. Signals, 3. Systems; Linear Time-Invariant Systems, 4. Fourier Analysis for Continuous-Time Signals and Systems, 5. Modulation, 6. Sampling, 7. Fourier Analysis for Discrete-Time Signal and Systems, 8. Filtering, 9. The Laplace Transform.
