| 中文概述 Chinese Description | 就人類的歷史來看，生活中某一種活動形式，反復行之，久而成俗；如屬良風美俗，則用禮的形式加以規範，成為禮俗。我國古有冠、昏、喪、祭四禮，從人之始生，教養成人，成家立室，以至慎終追遠，對每個生命中的重要歷程，都訂定一套禮儀制度，展現對生命特有的關懷與尊重。本課程即欲透過這些禮制，探討內涵的精神意義，一則瞭解中國文化重倫理，重理性，重人道的特性，一則秉持古禮的精神，因應社會變遷，建立合乎現代人生活的生命禮俗，從而體悟生命的莊嚴與神聖。 | |||
| 英文概述 English Description | As is viewed from the human history, a certain active form in life--once repeated constantly--eventually turns into a conventional norm. The forms, if classified as fine or elaborate, are regulated in the format of rituals and then become well-accepted ritual. There used to be four customs in the ancient China: manhood, marriage, funeral, and worship. For each individual stage of a life, beginning from the birth of a man, through the years of growing up and building a family until the ending point of it, a complete system of rituals are constituted to reveal due concern and respect to life as it is. By studying and discussion of these rituals, this course explores the spiritual significance hidden behind, trying to help further understand the Chinese civilization which pays more emphasis on ethics, logic and humanities on the one hand, and on the other hand, to build up new rituals in accordance with the modern society and people and to help people realize the significance of life. | |||
