Course Objective
本課程將介紹一系列的生物分子及這些生物分子所扮演的角色。課程從認識細菌、植物、動物細胞及各種細胞胞器開始,接著探討蛋白質、酵素、DNA、RNA結構和功能及他們在生命中的重要性。再論及DNA複製及轉錄和RNA轉譯成蛋白質的重要性及機制。PCR和DNA重組技術的重要性是安排在最後來介紹。

Principles of Bioenergetics 6. Glycolysis 7. Aerobic metabolism: the citric acid cycle 8. Aerobic metabolism: electron transport and oxidative phosphorylation (Quiz 1) 9. Mid-term Exam (25%) 10. Fatty acid catabolism (synthesis) 11. Biosynthesis of amino acid, nucleotides and related molecules 12. Amino acid oxidation and the production of urea 13. Genes and chromosomes 14. DNA metabolism 15. RNA metabolism 16. Biosingnaling 17. Regulation of gene expression (Quiz 10%) 18. Final EXAM (35%)
